Client

IMS has been partnering with this co-packer for the past five years to provide additional repack and inspection services to the end customer.

Opportunity

This co-packer produces products for their customers and warehouses them in different locations.  Often there are requests made for services outside of their contract, and may not be able to be performed by the co-packer.

Challenge

Once a product is produced the goal is to get it into the marketplace as soon as possible. If there are concerns about the quality, or the product needs to be repackaged, any of these steps must be done quickly and efficiently and at a minimal cost.

Solution

IMS developed procedures for quality reviews and repacking at the co-packer's site, or within a few miles from their warehouse.  This shortens the timeframe and keeps the transportation costs low. Additionally, IMS provides as many employees as needed to meet the time schedule.  IMS has an assortment of repackaging equipment for larger projects, or can implement a hand assembly line for flexibility and low start-up cost.

Result

IMS has been able to fulfill irregular service requirements for this co-packer, and now partners with this company on a regular basis to broaden their list of services to potential clients.
